New OPPO 5G Phone Passes SIRIM Certification; Expected To Be The Find X2 Pro
Upon scanning through SIRIM’s database, we’ve discovered that a 5G OPPO phone bearing the model number CPH2025 had recently received its certification on 1 February 2020. Based on Thailand’s NBTC listing that we’ve reported a week back, the phone in question is expected to be the company’s upcoming Find X2 Pro model.
Additionally, we’ve also uncovered that the standard model of the Find X2 may had already arrived in Malaysia in the same report. With this, it appears that both variants of OPPO’s upcoming flagship will likely see an imminent local reveal or release in the near future.
Information on the specifications for both Find X2 phones remains to be scarce at this time. However, OPPO vice president Brian Shen recently revealed in Weibo that the phones will sport a 2K screen with 120Hz refresh rate – thereby confirming IceUniverse’s prior leak. He also added that the series will feature the company’s 65W SuperVOOC charging technology, which is currently present on last year’s OPPO Reno Ace smartphone.
Rumours have suggested that the Find X2 may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and could feature a 6.5-inch display. It’s uncertain if the speculations point to only one variant or both of its models. Regardless, rumours such as these are to be taken with a grain of salt, and it is best that we wait for an official announcement by OPPO themselves.
The arrival of the Find X2 Pro also marks it as the second 5G smartphone by OPPO that is now currently in Malaysia. The first being the Reno 5G which was approved by SIRIM earlier this year on 15 January.
