Film Director Taika Waititi Demands Apple To Fix Their MacBook Keyboards
Apple’s infamous butterfly keyboard switches that were first introduced to MacBooks in 2015 have been a nuisance for a lot of users. One such user who’s expressed his frustration with the keyboard system is Oscar winner and director Taika Waititi.
Speaking to journalists during the recent Academy Awards ceremony, Waititi slammed (not in a literal sense) Apple’s MacBook keyboards during a backstage press conference. “Apple needs to fix those keyboards,” he said. “They are impossible to write on — they’ve gotten worse. It makes me want to go back to PCs. Because PC keyboards, the bounce-back for your fingers is way better.”

An interesting response when asked for his opinion on what writers should be demanding from producers in the upcoming Writers Guild discussion. How does that answer relate to the question? Well, your guess is as good as ours and this is Taika Waititi after all.
Waititi won his first Oscar during the 2020 Academy Awards on 9 February for Best Adapted Screenplay, which was awarded to his 2019 film Jojo Rabbit. Meanwhile, Apple had already replaced its flawed butterfly keyboard switches starting with their latest MacBook Pro 16-inch which was launched last year.
