AMD Navi 12 And Navi 14 GPU Details Leak Online; Feature Up To 13 TFLOPs Compute Performance

AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 series graphics card has been out on the market for nearly six months, and while the card has picked up steam among gamers, there is still no sign of a high-end Navi GPU in sight. That said, a recent report suggests that AMD already has two Navi chipsets in the works.

According to TechPowerUp (TPU), AMD’s other two Navi generation of GPUs are the Navi 12 and Navi 14. Navi 14 is expected to be used in the production of the company’s mainstream GPU production. Specs-wise, the GPU would have between 4GB and 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and would have a TDP consumption from 120W and 150W. Oh, and the GPU will reportedly have a 128-bit memory bus.

Moving on, the Navi 12 is expected to be the high-end or enthusiast-level Navi GPU. The naming convention is, understandably, a bit odd; the current Radeon RX 5700 series is based on the Navi 10.

From the information, it seems Navi 12 will have just one graphics memory configuration, which is 8GB GDDR6. In terms of Compute performance, the GPU should churn out between 10 and 13 TFLOPs of performance, and have a TDP between 250W and 300W. Price-wise, the card may cost retail between US$500 and US$700 (between RM2098 and RM2935) at launch and will be a direct competitor to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 2080 Super.

Regardless of the GPU variant, both Navi 12 and Navi 14 will be based on the RDNA architecture. As usual, the information is merely speculation at this stage. Until AMD makes an official announcement, we advise that you take this news with a pinch of salt.
