New ASUS Google Meet Hardware Kit Includes A Chromebox, 4K Huddly Camera

There’s no doubt that the majority of us have already adapted to the idea of working from home and helping to facilitate this are the various video conferencing software and the hardware kits that make them better. On that note, ASUS announced its latest hardware kit that is designed to be paired with Google Meet.

Breaking it down, the hardware kit consists of a Chromebox, aptly referred to as the “Google Meet Compute System”. Specs-wise, the square-shaped mini PC is comprised of an Intel Core i7 CPU, a 128GB SSD, support for 4K video output, a USB-C port, and a healthy number of USB 3.1 ports. Oh, and there’s also a built-in LAN port, as well as support for dual-band Wi-Fi

Additionally, the PC also comes with a magnetic chassis and wall mount that allows consumers to hide the machine behind the display. If discretion, minimalism, and simplicity is what they wish to achieve.

Moving on, therre’s also a 4K Huddly Camera that comes bundled with the Compute System. The camera has a 120-degree FoV and even comes with a remote control that has an integrated keyboard on its back.

ASUS says that its Google Meet hardware kit will begin shipping out from June onwards and will be available in 28 countries. The kit will launch in three bundles: the Starter kit that costs £1650 (~RM8780), the “small and medium rooms” kit that costs £1970 (~RM10482) which supports up to eight people and comes with a touchscreen panel. Lastly, there’s the “Large room” kit, designed for groups comprising 20 people for £1700 (~RM9046). Oddly enough, this kit comes with a touchscreen and speaker microphone, but not a camera.
