Epic Games Store Gives Partial Refunds If You Bought Games Before A Sale
Buying games on a digital platform only to discover that they go on sale shortly after is a bummer. But the Epic Games Store (EGS) is trying to make it less so. It looks like the company is offering partial refunds if you recently bought a game that just went on sale.
Joshua Boggs, the founder of Studio Mayday, tweeted that he got a partial refund in one such scenario. The notification came via email, which says just as much.
Whoa whoa what?! I’ve clearly been around for too long because I find this refund for a discount I missed on the @EpicGames store absolutely mind blowingly generous. This is incredible? pic.twitter.com/eHfcus5E0K

As Kotaku points out, part of the official EGS refund policy is that you can request for a refund manually if this happens to you. The same applies to Steam as well which, chances are not many know of. But this one goes to Epic Games for automating the process, so that its customers don’t feel cheated for not waiting.
One thing that’s odd is that Epic Games did not mention this in its Store refund policy. The policy was quite recently updated too. What is officially announced, on the other hand, is that you can now get refunds on your own.
