Astro Ultra Box Now Available As Free Upgrade for IPTV Customers

Astro today has announced that Astro IPTV customers can obtain a free upgrade to its Astro Ultra Box which cars additional capabilities including access to 4K UHD contents, cloud recording, and advanced playback options. However, several criteria need to be met before they can receive the upgrade.

For starters, Astro Ultra Box is currently only available for IPTV customers that are on Maxis Fibre network. Even then, the connectivity must be pure fibre as pointed by the table below which we pulled from the Astro & Broadband’s FAQ document:

The free upgrade is also not available for Family Pack subscribers regardless of their broadband speed. At the same time, only customers that already served through their contracts can obtain the free upgrade to Astro Ultra Box. If they opt to move to the new TV box, they are then subjected to a new 24-month contract although they will also receive RM 20 monthly rebate throughout the contract duration.

The Astro Ultra Box is also available for new customers that signed for Astro & Broadband package in which they will also receive a monthly rebate of RM 10 for 24 months. For further details, do check out Astro & Broadband’s official website.
