Windows 7 To Support Microsoft Edge Browser Well Into July 2021

Microsoft has announced that it will be providing support for its new Edge browser to its now archaic Windows 7 OS well into the following year. Specifically, the OS provider will be providing support for the browser until 15 July 2021.

While not as popular as Google’s Chrome or Mozilla’s Firefox browsers, providing official support for the Chromium-based Edge browser means that users on Windows 7 will still be able to take advantage of the latest features offered by it. From now until the following July.

As a recap, the Microsoft Edge browser was first announced last year and began rolling out at the start of this year. The browser is a permanent replacement of the original and older Edge browser. Unlike its predecessor, the new browser comes with more business-focused features that Microsoft says will benefit people who work in the enterprise sector.

Having said that, Microsoft is encouraging all of its customers to move on to Windows 10. Especially since the company officially ended support for Windows 7 back in January this year.
