Assassin’s Creed 2 Will Be Free To Download On PC Starting 14 April

Ubisoft will be making the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 2 free to download on its UPlay digital platform. The free game will officially be available starting 14 April and permanently added to the games library once selected and redeemed.

News of Ubisoft’s charitable offer of the second instalment in the series was first posted by industry analyst, Daniel Ahmad, on his official Twitter account. On a related note, Ahmad says that the offer appears to be global and also includes discounts on the game’s two sequels, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

Moreover, the offer is not a part of the studio’s Uplay+ service. As the game and all associated titles in the series are already a part of the more than 100 PC titles that are available to subscribers.

First released in 2009, Assassin’s Creed 2 is perhaps one of the most well known entries in a franchise that has been existence for the better part of 12 years now. It has been lauded as one of the best titles in the series and the only entry known to spawn two sequels. Focusing on its Italian protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and his quests that takes him from Renaissance Italy to Ottoman-controlled Constantinople (now modern-day Istanbul).
