Steam Summer Game Festival Kicks Off 9 June This Year

It’s been confirmed that Valve will be hosting the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition later in June this year. The confirmation was announced via Twitter by Geoff Keighley, and that it will kick off from 9 June until 14 June.

Unlike its usual holiday-themed sales, Steam’s Game Festival are dedicated towards game developers and partners who wish to show off their latest titles. As well as present consumers with playable demos of it.

It should be noted that there’s not a whole lot of information beyond Keighley’s Twitter announcement, and developer are just beginning the registration process. That also means we won’t know what sort of game demos and content said developer intends to show off during the festival.

At this point, we should also point out that Steam’s Game Festivals are usually catered to indie developers and not so much the big names on the market. That said, we would advise against brushing the event off so soon. Many popular titles, such as the biohazard-themed side scroller, Carrion, has made an appearance on the platform. Although, the game still hasn’t received a concrete release date.

On a related note, if you’re games developer looking to get your title seen on the Steam platform, the festival’s documentation page is already up and running, along with the submission deadlines for game makers.
