Can you watch Disney Plus on Android TV?
Disney Plus hs arrived in the UK. After launching in a few countries last November, the new video streaming service has expanded its presence in Europe. We’ve previously covered how to get Disney Plus on smart TVs, but for those who want more detail on whether Disney Plus supports Android TVs, read on.
How to get Disney Plus on Android
Android TVs (and set-top boxes) are supported, so that means the Disney+ app can be viewed on Philips, Sony Bravia, Sharp and TCL models in the UK.
The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on the Android TV device through the web portal. Once the app is installed, you can sign up for Disney Plus via the app, or do so on the web. You can follow this link to get on board.
There is an Android TV app that can be downloaded for the TV sets running Android TV natively, as well as set-top boxes consoles like the NVIDIA Shield TV. Android TVs must have Android OS version 5.0 (Lollipop) or later for Disney Plus to work.
For those who have the Nvidia Shield TV, that device supports Dolby Vision HDR and as long as you have a Android OS TV compatible with Dolby Vision (Sony Bravia or Philips), you can watch 4K Disney Plus content, in enhanced picture quality.

Disney is offering all new subscribers a 7-day free trial to the new streaming service. Once that period has elapsed, you can either pay for a subscription monthly (£5.99/month) or yearly (£59.99/month).
Disney Plus is the newest video streaming service, rivalling the likes of Netflix and Prime Video. It’s home to Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, 20th Century and Disney content, and it’ll be the only place to watch The Mandalorian and Marvel’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
