Forget the Galaxy S20, Xiaomi’s 108 megapixel smartphone is now under £400
Already offering a fantastic midrange price, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has slipped below the £400 mark.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 might be rumoured to have a 108MP camera, but the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is likely far more affordable, especially with this additional saving courtesy of Amazon.
Now usually retailing at £409, with an extra £20 off the Mi Note 10 has dropped to £389, making this a very cheap smartphone in comparison to current flagship handsets that are rarely sub-£1000 these days.
The price tag might have you expecting something far more stripped back, but in terms of aesthetic the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 looks every bit a premium handset. Offering beautifully curved edges, the 6.47-inch OLED screen stuns with its near bezel-less appearance and subtle notch for its front-facing camera. Cased in glass, both front and back, and with a metal frame, there are no shortcuts in terms of its design.
The same could be said for its features and specs beneath the hood. Packing a hefty 5260mAh battery cell, as well as the fairly standard 6GB of RAM and the mid-range 730 Snapdragon chipset, on paper this handset should match up to its look and perform beautifully.
In our testing – while it didn’t quite reach the staying power of the Oppo A9 2020 – the Mi Note 10’s battery was more than able to hold its own, ending some days with 50% left in the tank, depending on usage. Compared to the likes of the Pixel 4 however, the Mi Note 10 will seem like a breath of fresh air.
Of course, the standout of the Mi Note 10 is its whopping 108MP main sensor on the rear camera module. Despite having a noticeable camera bump that juts out from the phone’s main body, you can’t fault it entirely considering the amount of impressive tech its packing. Alongside it sits a macro lens, ultra-wide sensor, as well as a 2x and 3x zoom.
In our review, we noted: “Normal shots are packed full of detail; 108-megapixel shots even more so. There’s a slight painterly quality to those ultra-high-res images, common to ‘AI’ algorithm-assisted shots. However, I’m impressed by how natural they continue to look, and how different they are to the 27-megapixel images.”
If the rumoured high-end specs of the Galaxy S20 have you intrigued but you don’t want to spend an absolute fortune on upgrading to your next phone, then this sweet deal on the Mi Note 10 is one of the best options out there.
