Samsung Reveals Android 10 Update Roadmap For Phones, Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 Excluded From The List

Samsung is working its way up with the latest Android 10 update as it has already started pushing beta builds of its Android 10-based One UI 2.0 across its Galaxy S10 and S9 lineup and Galaxy Note9 and Note10 lineup. Both the lineups have received a tonne of beta builds with the stable update expected to roll out sometime in January next year. But that’s not all.

The South Korean smartphone maker is looking forward to pushing out the Android 10 update across a huge part of its smartphone armamentarium and has also included smartphones from On, M, A, and even J series. This was recently spotted when a Samsung Android 10 roadmap appeared online believed to be from an official source.

According to the roadmap, Galaxy S9, Note9, Galaxy S10, Note10 will make it to stable Android 10 by January next year. Samsung has already started pushing out builds for the S10, Note10 series in Germany so there might be a difference in the timeline here and there.

Accordingly, an Israeli roadmap listed Galaxy S9 devices to get the Android 10 upgrade in April this year while a sound European list covered that at least three of the 5G smartphones from Samsung are expected to get Android 10 by the first month of 2020 although specifically not listed on the official roadmap.

Apart from that, Samsung is also pushing out Android 10 to its most alluring, bizarre smartphone i.e. Galaxy Fold which has already gone through a tonne of hardships. This is probably why Samsung will push out the Android 10 update to Galaxy Fold device in April next year so as to get everything ready for a bizarre phone that already has bugs related to its software and the South Korean giant wants to resolve it all while being perfect at the very first attempt.

Interestingly enough, there is no trace of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note8 series on the official Android 10 roadmap which could be probably because it has already run its course of getting major updates although there could be other reasons as well.

Apparently, there is a list of smartphones to get their stable Android 10 update that I will be listing here.

First of all, in January (Phase I), Samsung will push the official stable Android 10 update to Galaxy S9, Note 9, Galaxy M20, M30, A30, S10 series, and Galaxy Note 10 series. Samsung has skipped February (I don’t know why) so Galaxy M40 will be updated in Phase II which commences in March.

Phase III aka April will have a tonne of smartphones including the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Fold that will get its major update followed by Galaxy Tab S6. Then, we have Galaxy A6, A6+, A7 (2018), and S9 (2018) along with Galaxy A50, A50s, A70, A70s, and A80 while the last to get the update although not literally is Galaxy M30s.

Samsung will look forward to its Phase IV in May where it will update Galaxy A8 Star, A10, A10s, A20, and A30s to the latest Android 10 along with Galaxy M10s making the cut the same month as well. Next month i.e. June, we have Galaxy A20s, Galaxy J6, and Galaxy On6 that will be boosted to Android 10 followed by Galaxy S6+, Galaxy J7 Duo, Galaxy On8, and Galaxy J8 that will be making the cut. Here, Galaxy Tab S4 and Tab S5e will also get their major upgrade to Android 10 in July 2018.

Next, come August and September when Samsung will update three of its remaining and eligible tablets that are Galaxy Tab A8, Galaxy Tab A 10.5 (2018) and finally, Galaxy Tab A 10.1. This concludes Samsung’s Android 10 roadmap from 2020 and I highly doubt that any smartphone not listed in the roadmap might get Android 10 while some of the devices listed might be limited to certain regions and carriers, etc.
