Samsung Galaxy A51 Passes SIRIM Certification; Malaysian Launch Seems Imminent

The Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 was launched in Vietnam last week. Interestingly, our scan through SIRIM’s list of certified devices in their e-ComM page indicates that the A51 might actually land in Malaysia sometime soon.

The Galaxy A51 is registered under Samsung Malaysia Electronics with the model number SM-A515F/DSN, and was approved by SIRIM on 17 December 2019. Other than that, the SIRIM’s e-ComM listing also specified that the device supports a variety of LTE bands, NFC, and comes with dual sim support.

Unfortunately, no listing of the Galaxy A71 was found in SIRIM’s database of approved devices – for the time being, at least.

To recap, the Samsung Galaxy A51 features a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display, complete with a built-in fingerprint scanner and a 32MP selfie camera nestled within the display’s punch hole. Under the hood, the phone is equipped with an Exynos 9611 SoC, 4GB or 6GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage, and a battery capacity of 4,000mAh with 15W fast-charging support.

Camera-wise, the Galaxy A51 sports a quad-camera setup on its back which consists of a 48MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP depth, and a 5MP macro sensor. The phone also comes with Samsung’s One UI 2 and the latest Android 10 operating system.

There’s no word yet from Samsung Malaysia regarding the local launch of the Samsung Galaxy A51 smartphone, but we believe it’s only a matter of time before an official announcement is made.
