The Asus ROG Falchion Is The Company’s New 65 Percent Keyboard

Following close behind last week’s reveal of the Razer Huntsman Mini keyboard is Asus, with its ROG Falchion. It’s not as small, being a 65% keyboard rather than 60%. But it makes up for this with a little more than just a few extra keys.

One clear difference between the Asus ROG Falchion and the Razer Huntsman Mini is that the former comes with wireless connectivity. It comes with a dongle that lets it connect to a computer using 2.4GHz WiFi. The company also claims that despite this, it has a 1ms response time, so it doesn’t suffer from input lag like most wireless peripherals.

Then there’s a touch strip on the left side of the Asus ROG Falchion. This is essentially a shortcut, of which you can set to your choosing. Unless you have a specific function in mind, I’d hazard a guess that it would most likely be used as a volume slider shortcut. There’s also the obligatory RGB lighting. Asus says it has a battery life of 400 hours without the RGB on, but did not provide a number with it on.

The key switches are of the Cherry MX variety, but Asus did not say which one specifically it is using for this. For now, the company has yet to give the ROG Falchion a price or availability date.
