Massive Nintendo Leak Allegedly Shows Classic Games’ Prototypes
A number of videos have appeared online, which may be part of one of the largest leaks Nintendo has experienced. The videos allegedly depict prototypes of games by the Japanese brand, compiled from leaked source code.
The leaks show prototypes of games like Super Mario Kart, Yoshi’s Island, Star Fox 2, and one called Super Donkey. That last one is perhaps a reference to Donkey Kong, featuring a character that looks like Stanley the Bugman. From these prototypes, you can get a look at the original sprites for many of the compamy’s video game characters, and even unused beta music.
There's also this slightly broken Super Mario Kart build with no drifting (?) and unused tracks, including a unique title theme
Versions of games like Mario All-Stars and Mario RPG have also been found and are being researched into rn pic.twitter.com/YMHaiLjXmd

There’s even internal documentation for the many Nintendo hardware, including a China-only iQue, as part of the leak. These show the way the systems work, as well as their development process.
somebody managed to compile a working build/ROM stemming from the source codes files of Star Fox 2 that was leaked in the big GigaLeak today.
This build is, none other, then the long-long-known Winter CES 1995 demo. There are supposedly other builds in the source. Stay tuned. pic.twitter.com/yaSAct3WRb

VGC has made quite the extensive roundup of the lot, with a ResetEra post having another load. There’s a fair amount of overlap, but you can take a look at more stuff that have surfaced from the leak there. Considering the scale of this leak though, it’s possible that there’s a lot more to be uncovered. So far, these are all old content, but it would really hurt Nintendo if newer, upcoming projects were also leaked out as part of this.
