Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport McLaren Edition Unveiled; Priced At RM1199

Klipsch introduced its excellent T5 True Wireless earbuds back in 2019, which also came with a unique Zippo-like brushed metal charging case. This year, the company has unveiled the second generation of the earbuds, along with a Sports edition in collaboration with carmaker McLaren. The latter is confirmed to be released in Malaysia next month, courtesy of Klipsch official distributor TC Acoustic.

Although different in terms of cosmetics, both the standard T5 II True Wireless and McLaren Edition feature the same hardware specifications. The second generation is approximately 25-percent smaller than its predecessor, and is claimed to closely mimic the shape of the ear for an even better fit and comfort.

Other improvements include new Bluetooth 5.0 signal boost antenna, and multi-function buttons on both sides which require less force to switch music tracks or adjust volume levels. While the T5 II does not feature active noise cancellation (ANC), Klipsch claims that it could cancel between 20 to 30dB with a secure fit and also includes an ability for allowing outside noise pass-through via a press of a button.

The second generation earbuds is capable of running 8 hours of music playback, with an additional 24 hours via its charging case. Additionally, both the T5 II True Wireless and its charging case are dust and waterproof, with a rating of IP67. As with its predecessor, the new earbuds also come with oval ear tips available in multiple sizes – now colour coded to separate each size.

The McLaren Edition, on the other hand, features detachable ear wings for added comfort and will include three extra pairs in its packaging. It also comes with its own charging case which is decked out in the automaker’s colours, complete with carbon fibre-styled finishing. Another thing that sets it apart from the standard T5 II is its ability to charge wirelessly.

TC Acoustic confirmed that the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport McLaren Edition will arrive locally in August, and is exclusively available via its website with a retail price of RM1,199. The availability of the standard variant in South East Asia is not known for the time being, and is priced at USD199 (~RM850) in the US.
