ASUS Announces New ZenBook Series With 10th Generation Intel CPU

Earlier today, ASUS gave us a first glimpse of its new ZenBook lineup, specifically, the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14. Both laptops are the successor to last year’s ZenBook 13, and as one would expect, they also seem to feature some significant performance improvements.

For a start, both the ZenBook 13 and 14 obviously feature different display sizes; the ZenBook 13 houses a 13.3-inch LED-backlit Full HD resolution display, while the ZenBook 14’s is 14-inches, but retains the same native resolution. Of course, their overall weight are also different, but not by much. Specifically, the ZenBook 13 weights approximately 1.03kg, while the ZenBook 14 is approximately 1.13kg.

Besides these differences, both ZenBook machines are expected to be powered by the same 10th Generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 CPU – the model that features Intel’s new Iris Plus integrated graphics – up to 8GB LPDDR4-3200MHz RAM, a 512GB NVMe Gen3 M.2 SSD, and a 4-cell 67WHr battery that ASUS says will guarantee users up to 22 hours of battery life.

Other physical features of the new ZenBook series include and Intel Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 antenna, two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen1, a full-sized HDMI port, and a microSD card slot. Oh, and just like last year’s ZenBook, the new ZenBook series features a 2nd generation NumberPad that is built into the notebooks’ trackpad.

Perhaps one of the niftier features of the ZenBook series is its ability to be charged via USB-C Thunderbolt 3. More precisely, ASUS says that you can even charge the notebook using a low-powered 5V powerbank. The charging speed would undoubtedly be slow, but ASUS says that due to the promised 22-hour battery life, having this option would let consumers charge their notebooks overnight and while they slept.

On another note, ASUS also said that the new ZenBook 13 and 14 would be the first machines in the series to go completely wireless and not include a 3.5mm audio jack. The brand representative says this was to keep with the times, but he did say that all ZenBook 13 and 14 models will come with a Hi-Res Audio dongle out of the box. Should the consumer still wish to maintain his wired headphone ways.

At the time of writing, ASUS did not specify local availability or pricing for either the ZenBook 13 or 14.
