This May Be What The New Google Android TV Dongle Looks Like

Google has, unsurprisingly, a new Android TV dongle in the works. It is not only expected to succeed the Chromecast Ultra, but also come with its own dedicated remote. And XDA claims to have obtained renders of the thing, which has a code-name of Sabrina.

From what can be seen, the Google Android TV dongle called Sabrina has a slight oblong shape. This is opposed to the round shape of the Chromecast Ultra. Sabrina will also come in pink, in addition to the usual black and white.

Less visible is the supposed remote control that will come with the dongle. Only half of it was shown, but from it, we can see that it has a dedicated Google Assistant button. Chances are it will have buttons dedicated to video streaming platforms like Netflix as well.

The renders came from a pre-release firmware build of the device. There was also a marketing video within, which provides more information on the Google Android TV dongle itself, its remote and the software within. But with the video being a few months old, it’s likely that the final product may look a little different when it gets officially unveiled.

As for when it will actually be revealed, it remains to be seen. There were a number of possible events where the unveiling could have happened. These include the cancelled Google I/O event, as well as the now postponed Android 11 event. Maybe 13 July will be the day, as it is now rumoured to be the day the Pixel 4a will be unveiled.
