Sony Says Still Lots More Life In The PlayStation 4
Sony Interactive Entertainment hasn’t let up on the PlayStation 4 promos. The most recent one was announced late last month, shortly before the initial plans to unveil its successor. Some may be wondering at the time if it’s a good idea to pick up the PS4 so late in its cycle. If you’ve wondered the same, the short answer is “don’t worry”.
At least, that’s what PlayStation’s vice president of UX Design Matt MacLaurin says. According to VG247, MacLaurin was responding to statements like “I should have waited for the PS5”. His response ranged from “you’ll be fine” to “Take your time. We’re still investing strongly in PS4”.
All around, it sounds pretty positive for PS4 owners, early or new adopters alike. After all, there are still new games coming out before the PS5 gets released. Examples include The Last of Us II and Ghost of Tsushima. While it’s likely that these PS4 games will also make their way to the PS5, these are games that may be worth experiencing early, rather than waiting. Then there’s also the PS5’s price, which may prevent gamers from buying it early as well.
At any rate, it looks like PlayStation 4 owners need not worry about their console getting obsolete anytime soon. Not only are there good games to play before the successor comes, but there will also likely be more games to play after the fact.
