MOE Introduces DELIMa Digital Learning Platform; Collaborative Effort With Google, Microsoft And Apple

The Ministry of Education (MOE) today has introduced the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa), a refresh of its digital learning platform for teachers, educators and students. The ministry added the platform is also a collaborative effort with the tech industry’s major players including Google, Microsoft, and Apple.

DELIMa offers applications and services required by teachers and students within the Malaysian school system such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Office 365, and Apple Teacher Learning Centre. MOE explained that the platform was envisioned with the aim of having digital learning accessible to all via a multi-technology ecosystem, providing students the ability to learn at any time regardless of location, and paving way for digital transformation in Malaysia.

According to the ministry, the platform is averaging 1.7 million monthly active users-to-date – making it one of the largest national deployments in the world. It currently has 10,000 schools, 370,000 teachers, and 2.5 million students registered to the system.

In conjunction with the DELIMa launch, MOE had also organised a webinar attended by the national community of Malaysian educators which discussed technology’s vital role in Malaysia’s digital transformation. The talk featured a keynote by the ministry’s director general Dr Habibah binti Abdul Rahim, as well as country representatives from Google and Microsoft, as well as an Apple Distinguished Educator.
