Lenovo Official Launches ThinkPad E Series Notebooks; Starts From RM3449

Lenovo officially announced its new ThinkPad E series notebooks, the E14 and E15. Both notebooks are designed and catered towards the professional workforce but more importantly, they are also powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 4000 mobile series processors.

As with all ThinkPads, both the E14 and E15 notebooks are fitted with Lenovo-centric features that are typical with the lineup. To start, both models feature the brand’s Precision Keyboard, Touchpad and TrackPoint technology, along with a ThinkShutter cover for the front-facing HD camera at the top of the display.

Beneath the hood, the cooling system of the E14 and E15 is handled by an Owl Wing fan that Lenovo says is in its 8th generation. Capable of delivering up to 38% increased airflow than its predecessor, which equates to a further 15% better thermal performance as well.

Then there’s the hardware; as mentioned at the start, the E14 and E15 are powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 4000 mobile series CPUs, which are based off its Zen 2 CPU architecture. Besides the obvious difference in display size – the E14 has a 14-inch Full HD display while the E15’s display measures in at 15.6-inches – the configuration options are pretty much identical to each other.

Basically, you have a choice between an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U or Ryzen 7 4700U, an 8GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM soldered on with an additional memory slot. Should the need to expand the memory size arise. The standard storage configuration for both models are is a 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD, but that capacity can be bumped up to a maximum capacity of 1TB as well. To keep all the components running, both the E14 and E15 are fitted with a 3-cell 45WHr battery that Lenovo says, combined with AMD’s new CPUs, allows the machines to be used by up to 13 hours.

The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 and E15 are already available online and at all Lenovo exclusive stores. Pricing starts from RM3499 for the E14, while the starting price for the E15 starts from RM3449.
