Corsair Issues Recall For SF Series PSUs With Free RMA And Shipping

Corsair recently issued a recall for some of its SF Series Power Supply Units (PSUs). According to a post on its official forum page, the brand had identified some higher-than-normal RMA rates among some units of its small form-factor PSUs.

A thorough investigation by Corsair then discovered that the problems in these affected PSUs would begin showing themselves through a combination of high temperatures and high humidity. Before ultimately failing and shutting down. This was then boiled down to a problem that manifested itself in the AC conversion part of the PSU, but not the DC portion that generally interacts with PC components.

Specifically, Corsair’s recall affects SF Series PSUs with lot codes between 194448xx and 201148xx, and manufactured between October 2019 and March 2020. As this is a problem that Corsair seemingly discovered, the RMA will be free of charge and will include free shipping.

So, if you’re one of the unlucky owners of an SF Series PSU that falls within the lot codes, you can go ahead and submit a ticket with the title “SF Series voluntary product replacement”, in order to make it easier for the brand to identify you and thus expedite the replacement process.
