Tim Cook says iPhone SE 2020 ‘faster than fastest Android phones’
While the whole world is under lockdown due to the virus outbreak and a pandemic situation, we know that business should take place as well. So Apple reported their quarterly earnings this week and we know that the company actually grew in the last quarter. It is also worth noting that the impact of Coronavirus will come in Apple’s next quarterly earnings since the quarter ending March only saw a sales slump in Apple’s China sales. However, we are here to tell you about something else that is making rounds in the Android circuit which has triggered a lot of Android fans, including us.
Apple CEO Tim Cook, who held this quarterly earnings meet, via a video conference, said that the latest iPhone SE 2020 is “faster than the fastest Android phones”. He added that the iPhone SE will attract a lot of Android users over to iOS because the phone is fast and delivers performance in a $400 phone that no one else can. Now, we do agree that it might the fastest phone right now in the sub-$400 category. But there is no way the iPhone SE will be faster than the Android flagships powered by Snapdragon’s latest chip and more than 12 gigs of RAM.
However, when we read the exact statement from Apple CEO, he meant to say something else. Cook added that “It plays in every geo, but I would expect to see it doing even better where the median incomes are less. I’d expect some fair number of people switching over to iOS. It’s an unbelievable offer. It’s the engine of our top phones, in a very affordable package, and it’s faster than the fastest Android phones. It’s an exceptional value”.
From the above statement, we can clearly make out that Apple CEO is pointing towards the fact that there is no better phone in the $400 price range than the iPhone SE when both Android and iOS offerings are considered. It looks like Tim Cook forgot to mention that it is faster than the fastest Android phones in the $400 price range.
