MIMOS Announces Malaysia COVID-19 Information Hub MyC19

MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia’s national applied research and development centre, announced the Malaysia COVID-19 Information Hub, or MyC19. It’s an AI-based analytics system meant to perform sentiment analysis on people’s concerns of the pandemic’s impact.

You can get just about any information you need that’s related to the pandemic from the web-based application. MyC19 also provides information like the latest updates from the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health. This is in addition to official statistics on the pandemic. In addition to the number of posts and articles found, you can also see the sentiment breakdown for each day.

That being said, you’ll probably have to do quite a bit of manual filtering of your own for now, when it comes to the “latest news” part of the site. The news feed seems to include a lot of articles that have COVID-19 as just a passing mention, in addition to those that have it as a central topic.

MIMOS says its application aggregates information on the progress of the disease in Malaysia, so that affected sectors and communities can be better prepared. MyC19 works by getting AI-based bots to collect information from news sites, social media platforms, medical mapping data, and various COVID-19-related sites.

MyC19 is a collaborative effort between MIMOS, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia. You can check out MyC19 from the link below.
