Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 2020 Announced, Comes With 10th-Gen Intel Chips and 16:10 Display
Dell has been having a great 2020 right from the start as far as its XPS lineup is concerned because the company revealed their XPS 13 laptop at the beginning of this year. As far as the XPS 13 is concerned, we have seen that the laptop came with a total redesign and the chassis design was also changed.
This also meant that there were a lot of changes in the design such as aluminium chamfered edges as well as almost zero-bezels on all four sides including a tiny webcam at the top bezel. Along with that, Dell changed the Maglev keyboard with a new keyboard on the XPS 13 which was praised by everyone.
Now, the company has brought all these design changes to the bigger laptops in its XPS series. If you noticed, we mentioned laptops and laptop and that is not a mistake. For those who have followed the XPS lineup from Dell, the company was releasing XPS 13 and XPS 15 from last years. But this year, Dell has launched XPS 13, XPS 15 as well as XPS 17.
So talking about the Dell XPS 15, we have the same 16:10 display from the XPS 13 to this laptop and the same applies for Dell XPS 17. Also, the Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 also get 10th-gen Intel chips which include up to Intel i9 processor. As far as graphics is concerned, the Dell XPS 15 includes Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q graphics inside but it is worth noting that the base model still comes with integrated graphics.
Apart from that, Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 also have a redesigned trackpad which is quite large and similar to the Macbook Pro lineup in size. The Dell XPS 15 also gets three USB Type-C ports out of which two are Thunderbolt 3 ports whereas the Dell XPS 17 will have 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports equipped with USB Type-C.
Dell also claims that “The XPS 17 is the smallest 17-inch laptop on the planet,” and it is because the laptop has a 17-inch display in the 15-inch frame. On the other hand, Dell XPS 15 comes in a 13-inch frame and it is even smaller than last year’s Dell XPS 15 too.
Talking about the price, Dell XPS 15 is already available for sale and it starts at $1299.99 in the US. However, the Dell XPS 17 is not available right now and Dell says that it will be available “later this summer” and it will be priced at $1499.99.
