Huawei Nova 7 Series Launch In China; Comes With 5G And 64MP Main Camera
Huawei officially launched its Nova 7 series in China recently. This time, the mid-range lineup comprises not one, but three different devices, each with varying pedigree. The phones are the Nova 7 Pro, Nova 7, and Nova 7 SE.
Regardless of the model, it should be noted that all three devices comes with support for 5G connectivity, a 64MP main shooter, and 4000mAh battery with 40W fast-charging support. Obviously, there are some differences between the three models, chief among them being the chipsets in each phone; both the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro are running on the Kirin 985 SoC, while the Nova 7 SE is fitted with a more modest Kirin 820 SoC.
The Nova 7 Pro is obviously the flagship model of the three. It sports a curved 6.57-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The screen also comes with a dual punch hole cutout, housing both a 32MP and 8MP selfie camera system. Additionally, the screen also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Around the back, the Nova 7 Pro sports a quad-camera module that consists of the earlier mentioned 64MP, an 8MP ultrawide, an 8MP OIS periscope module capable of up to 5x optical zoom, and a 2MP macro shooter. Additional specs include 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Moving down the list, the Nova 7 is the middle child of the new series. Its display is slightly smaller than the Nova 7 Pro at 6.53-inches but only has a single punch hole cutout. Housing a 32MP selfie camera.
Its main camera is nearly identical to the Nova 7 Pro, the main difference being that the 8MP periscope module has been swapped out with a standard 8MP telephoto sensor, and is only capable of 3x optical zoom. Like its big brother too, the Nova 7 also comes with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Last but not least is the Nova 7 SE. Basically a slightly watered-down version of the Nova 7, this phone sports a 6.5-inch IPS display. It also has the same punch hole at the top left, but instead of a 32MP selfie camera, it’s only a 16MP. Like its more powerful siblings, the phone uses a similar quad-camera main-array. Although the setup comprises a 64MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Of course, and while this shouldn’t come as a surprise, all three devices will ship out running Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).
As for pricing, the Nova 7 Pro starts from 3700 Yuan (~RM2285), the Nova 7 from 3000 Yuan (~RM1853), and the Nova 7 SE from 2400 Yuan (~RM1482). The phone is expected to see circulation in China from 28 April. At the time of writing, local availability and pricing have not yet been announced.
