Befrienders KL Moves Its Services To Skype During MCO

The services of organisations like Befrienders are needed now more than ever. After all, the extended Movement Control Order can be quite hard hitting for all of us who are affected. So to ensure its services are still available to those in need, Befrienders KL have moved its services to Skype.

As part of the transition, the non-profit organisation’s usual hotlines will not be available until the MCO is lifted. Instead, if you have need of a listening ear, you can reach out to the Befrienders KL via these two Skype IDs – BefKL Skype 1 and BefKL Skype 2. The service remains contactable 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to the NGO’s KL Facebook page.

Befrienders KL says it was still able to operate as usual during the first phase of the MCO out of its centre at Jalan Templer. But stricter guidelines for NGOs to remain in service were put in place for the second phase. As a result, its volunteers could not be at its usual centre until after the MCO is lifted.

For now, if you need to reach Befrienders KL, Skype is the way to go. Though there may be a queue ahead of you, as the NGO said that it has been getting a lot more calls during the MCO period.
