The Razer Viper Mini Is A Gaming Mouse With Optical Switches Priced Under RM200

Razer has announced its third mouse with optical switches, in the form of the Viper Mini. Also the third in the new Viper line, it’s also the most affordable of the lot. Surprisingly, it’s also one of the more affordable mice in the brand’s inventory.

Of course, being a Mini model, the Razer Viper Mini has lost a notable feature beyond size. As it’s lost the shortcuts on the right side, it’s difficult to consider it as an ambidextrous mouse, even if the company insists  it is in its FAQ. This is fine if you’re a right-hander, but it stings for the 10% of southpaws among us.

Another notable change on the Razer Viper Mini is the button for changing its DPI setting. While it was placed at the bottom to prevent accidental toggling in the base and Ultimate models, it’s now back on top behind the scroll wheel. So in total, you have six programmable buttons that are always accessible.

And then there’s the size. The Razer Viper Mini is only very slightly smaller than the standard and Ultimate models. We’re talking 8.5mm shorter and 4.1mm thinner, but 0.5mm taller. As for weight, it’s rated at 61g.

On the inside, it has pretty much everything else you can find on the standard Viper. This includes an 8500 DPI optical sensor, its signature optical mouse switches, on board profile storage, and the obligatory Razer Chroma RGB lighting.

As mentioned, the Razer Viper Mini is one of the most affordable mice that the company is selling. In fact, it’s priced at RM199, making it the second most affordable mouse by the brand, behind the DeathAdder Essential and Abyssus Essential, both priced at RM169. If you’re interested, it’s already available from Razer’s online store, linked below.
