MCMC Temporarily Closes Its Headquarters, Hotline, and Counters As Part Of COVID-19 Preventive Measure

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced that its headquarters is being temporarily closed for the next two days. The move was taken as part of preventive measure against the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

The closure has also been applied to the regulator’s older facility which is located adjacent to its headquarters. Naturally, this also affected the operation of the Apparatus Assignment Payment Counter at its HQ but interesting enough, MCMC has decided to close this counter until 8 March.

Furthermore, a separate announcement has also revealed that the operation of its hotline as well as complaint counters at all MCMC’s offices have now been suspended until further notice. That being said, all complaints can still be submitted through its official website and e-mail.

Additionally, the regulator has pointed out that its staff are still working from home despite the closure of the facilities we’ve mentioned above. According to the latest statistic from World Health Organization, there are now 95,124 COVID-19 cases across the globe by 8AM Malaysian time today but the number of cases in Malaysia currently remains at 50 as per yesterday.
