Apple Powerbeats4 Shows Up In SIRIM Certification Database

Earlier in the week, we saw leaked official images of the Apple Powerbeats4. At the time, the wireless headphones have already gotten approved by the US FCC, which reportedly happened in February. But from the looks of it, the Powerbeats4 also went through SIRIM certificaiton around the same time the leaks surfaced.

Spotted in the SIRIM database was something in the wireless earphone category, filed by Apple Malaysia Sdn Bhd. With it was the model number of A2015, which is the same one as the Apple Powerbeats4 in its FCC filing. And finally, it looks to have been approved on Tuesday, 10 March 2020.

In case you missed it, the Apple Powerbeats4 is a pair of wireless headphones featuring the over-ear hook design. The left and right pieces are connected by a cable that also serve as a neckband when not in use. They are rumoured to support Siri, as well as having a battery life 15 hours.

At any rate, the appearance of the Apple Powerbeats4 in the SIRIM certification database means that you’ll definitely be able to find it on local shelves. The only hurdle left, if you’re looking forward to it, is an official announcement by the iPhone maker.

(Thanks for the tip, Kevin!)
