Xiaomi Mi 10 And Mi 10 Pro To Come With 108MP Main Cameras

When Qualcomm officially announced the Snapdragon 865 last year, Xiaomi also announced that it will have the Mi 10 in the first quarter of 2020, using the chipset. The phone was also thought to have a 108MP main camera, like the Mi Note 10. More evidence of this has surfaced, and it came from an app UI update.

According to XDA, four devices were named in the MIUI’s stock gallery app update, as getting support for 108MP photos. The codenames for these devices were Rucana, Draco, Umi and Cmi. The first and second ones were identified as the Mi Note 10 Pro, and the Mi Mix Alpha, respectively. The remaining two point towards the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.

XDA obtained build.prop files for two Xiaomi devices, featuring the two codenames Umi and Cmi. And they assert that the former is the Mi 10 while the latter is the Mi 10 Pro. Combining this with what was found on the MIUI gallery app update, and it sounds like a reasonable assumption that the two upcoming phones will indeed have 108MP main cameras.

The build.prop files also confirm that both devices will indeed come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. They will also be running MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

So far, the fact that the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will be running the latest Qualcomm chipset is about as certain as can be. That said, we wouldn’t go as far as to say the same for the 108MP main cameras just yet. But an official announcement is bound to happen some time next week, so we’ll likely get confirmation then.
