Silent Hill And Fatal Frame Are Getting New Film Adaptations
Does anyone remember the film adaptations of Silent Hill and Fatal Frame? It looks like there will be more of both. The director of the first Silent Hill movie has announced that he will not only be working on a new one, but also one for Fatal Frame.
Said director, Christophe Gans, confirmed this during an interview with French site Allocine. Translations for a part of that was shared by horror specialist site Rely on Horror.
The upcoming Silent Hill film will take place in a small American town, “ravaged by Puritanism”. On the other hand, the new Fatal Frame movie will take place in Japan, going back to haunted house setting. And that’s all there is as far as information about the two films are concerned.
Both titles have had prior film adaptations before. In fact, Silent Hill has had two. As mentioned, the first one was directed by Gans, which was better received than the second, but that’s not saying much. Fatal Frame, or Project Zero, was better received, even if there’s a lack of exorcism via camera.
At any rate, we’ll have to wait for quite a while longer before we get more details on both films. Hopefully this isn’t the extent of what Konami was talking about when the publisher said it had two more Silent Hill projects in the works.
