The Moto G8 Power pops up early on Amazon

The Moto G8 Power doesn’t officially exist yet, but while the cat was already half poking out the bag, Amazon has fully exposed it with a full listing on the platform.

Experience the power to be your creative best,” the Amazon listing reads. “Say hello to moto g8 power. With its 5000 mAh battery, you can go up to three full days on a single charge — and do the things you want without worrying about recharging.”

The listing then goes on to highlight the merits of the phone’s “AI-powered” quad-camera system that lets you “shoot photos from close up, far away, or anywhere in between.” That means you’re getting wide-angle and macro sensors alongside the main camera.

The specs, where they’re given, match the previous leaks. You’re looking at an “octa-core processor” (listed previously as the same Snapdragon 665 found in the Moto G8 Plus) and 4GB RAM. It’s a 1080p 6.4-inch screen, with the punch-hole camera there as promised, and the dual stereo speakers are tuned by Dolby.

While no IP rating is mentioned, the listing does highlight the phone’s “advanced water-repellent design,” which should protect it from minor contact with water. “Never let spills, splashes, or a little sweat get in the way of using your phone,” the copy boasts.

Unfortunately, the million-dollar question – how much it will cost – remains unanswered. There’s no price listed, with the familiar “currently unavailable” text written where the ‘buy’ button would normally be.

Given the Moto G8 Plus launched last year for £220 with very similar specs – albeit with a smaller battery and fewer cameras – it would be a surprise if the Moto G8 Power fell outside of the £170-to-£250 range, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

The good news is that wait shouldn’t be a long one. The Moto G7 family was officially unveiled the week before MWC 2019, and we expected something similar this year. That kicks off in Barcelona on February 24, and this early Amazon listing makes us pretty confident that that’ll be the absolute latest Motorola will spill the last remaining beans.
