HONOR View30 Pro Now Official; Brand’s Second HMS Device
HONOR has finally announced the View30 Pro, which is basically the V30 Pro for international markets. And for the most part, the two are identical too. But with similar hardware comes a potential issue, which we’ll get to later.
But for now, the hardware themselves. The HONOR View30 Pro comes with a 6.57-inch Full HD+ display, a Kirin 990 chipset, 8GB of RAM and a choice between 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The battery is rated at 4100mAh, with support for 27W wireless charging.
On cameras, the HONOR View30 Pro has a 40MP main + 12MP wide-angle + 8MP 3x telephoto combo. In front, it has a 32MP + 8MP wide-angle combo in front, sitting in a cutout on the upper left corner of the display.
Since we mentioned the Kirin 990 chipset, it’s important to note that this means that the HONOR View30 Pro comes with HMS rather than GMS. The phone’s Magic UI 3.0.1 is based on Android 10, but it’s not a Google-certified version of the OS. This also means that you won’t find Google apps on the phone either The company is also discouraging people from sideloading its apps into HMS devices.
Despite the unveiling, HONOR did not disclose pricing and availability details. Though TechRadar reports that the company will be available in Russia first, while PCMag reports that it will be available in “more countries” in March.
