F-Secure just made an unhackable USB sized computer

Hardware security specialists at F-Secure have created an USB sized computer that’s super secure. 

The stick is called the ‘USB armory Mk II’ and it’s one of the world’s smallest computers. It packs security from the ground up and is suitable for a wide range of applications and computing tasks, including cryptocurrency wallets, secure authentication and hardware security modules.

F-Secure said, in a press release: “The team at F-Secure Foundry designed the device in response to security problems encountered when hardware begins to overlap with firmware. As a result, the device represents state-of-the-art orchestration between software, firmware and hardware, while offering a wide variety of security features and high computational power in the smallest of form factors.”

The stick uses a combination of hardware and software to protect your data. F-Secure claims that its security features make the stick perfect for high stakes uses, where security is of paramount importance – such as use as a crypocurrency wallet.

Equally, the stick makes use of an open source ecosystem which means the platform can evolve as users needs do. So, if you’ve got a use in mind for the USB armory Mk II and it can’t do it right now, then it might be able to in future.
