Samsung Announces Portable SSD T7 Touch; Features A Fingerprint Sensor
Samsung has introduced a brand new portable SSD during CES 2020 in Las Vegas. The new Portable SSD T7 Touch ensures AES 256-bit encryption and also features a fingerprint sensor for security purposes.
The portable drive features a NVMe Solid State Drive (SSD) in capacities of 500GB, 1TB and 2GB, which boasts a read speed of 1050MB/s and write speed of up to 1000MB/s. The T7 Touch supports 2nd generation USB 3.2 and will be bundled with a USB-C to USB-C, as well as a USB-C to USB-A adapters for added compatibility.
The portable SSD is amazingly compact and weighs only 58g. It also supports various platforms including Windows, Mac, Android, and also video game consoles such as the Sony PS4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One.
The Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch is expected to be on store shelves by the end of this month, although it’s not known if it will be released in Malaysia at the same time. According to an official Samsung press release provided to Swiss gaming website Games.ch, the 500GB version will be priced at recommended retail price of CHF157 (~RM664), 1TB at CHF236 (~RM998), and 2TB at CHF449 (~RM1899).
