Pocophone F1 Receives Stable Android 10 Rollout
The new year has been ushering a slew of good news for POCO fans. Aside from potentially seeing the POCO F2 released as a series in 2020, the original fan favourite Pocophone F1 had recently received a full-fledged Android 10 rollout as well.
Just two months after POCO’s now-former parent company Xiaomi released the Android 9 Pie based MIUI 11 update for the phone, GSMArena reports that the Android 10 version is now available for download on the Pocophone F1. However, Malaysian users have pointed out that they’ve not received the update at this time.
The new Pocophone F1 Android 10 upgrade provides system optimisation, the 1 January Android security patch, and also several bug fixes. Features such as notification shade and scrolling screenshots have been fixed, while Game Turbo has been tweaked to provide optimal performance.
The F1 was originally released in 2018 with Android 8 Oreo, and received its Pie update months later in the same year. The arrival of Android 10 is the second largest OS upgrade to land on the smartphone since its launch.
The update is said to be 1.9GB in size, so it’s recommended that you download it via Wi-Fi when it finally arrives in Malaysia. Seeing that the Android 10 update has been circulating around in other regions already, its hopeful that the rollout for local Pocophone F1 users will arrive soon.
