Dell Mobile Connect Will Allow Drag-And-Drop File Transfers For iOS Devices Soon

Back in 2018, Dell announced it s Mobile Connect software that let Android devices work seamlessly with its PCs. For CES 2020, the company has announced that it will be adding new capabilities to iOS devices that were previously only available to Android devices

Through an upcoming update, the iOS version of the Mobile Connect will allow wireless drag-and-drop file transfers and device mirroring. As it is now, the software allows you to have your focus entirely on your PC, and deal with  anything that comes to your phone. You can send and receive text messages, as well as make and take calls.

In case you’re wondering, the Mobile Connect app uses Bluetooth and WiFi Direct to connect your phone to your Dell PC.

The Dell Mobile Connect software itself is free on all Windows 10 XPS, Inspiron, Vostro and Alienware systems purchased after January 2018.

Likewise, updates to the app are also free, and this includes the drag-and-drop file transfer and the screen mirroring feature. The update will be out in spring, but there’s no exact date for it just yet.
