GrabFood Now Charges Up To RM 9, Based On Delivery Distance

According to a recent report, Grab Malaysia has apparently changed its delivery charges for GrabFood service from a fixed rate to distance-based system. This was apparently to expand the food options available to consumers.

Prior to this, GrabFood has set its delivery fee as RM 5. With the new system, the fee can now go up to RM 9 depends on the distance of the restaurants or food outlets that customers choose.

Naturally, Grab pointed out that the new tiered system allows the company to compensate its riders better given the distance that they have to go through. While Grab Malaysia has provided a statement to The Star, it actually has yet to directly clarify the changes on its app, website, or social media through.

In fact, the FAQ document regarding GrabFood deliver charge on their website has not yet been updated (shown above) at the time this article is published. Nevertheless, if you somehow found yourself paying more than RM 5 when you order your meal through GrabFood, now you know why.
