Avengers: Endgame – Ant-Man Was Supposed to Lead an Army of Giant Insects During Final Battle

Scott Lang AKA Ant-Man had a huge role to play in Avengers: Endgame. After all, him getting stuck in the quantum realm and coming back is what inspired the rest of the Avengers (or at least the genius ones) to device a machine that can send them back in (alternate) time. That said, it looks like Ant-Man was also supposed to lead an entire army of giant insects during the epic final battle against the Mad Titan, Thanos.

A piece of concept art in the behind the scenes book of Endgame, titled ‘Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame – The Art of the Movie’ (via Reddit) reveals Ant-Man using his abilities to create a group of giant ants that he could then lead against Thanos’ evil forces. Check it out below:

It’s a pretty awesome concept if you ask me, one that would’ve made the already epic battle even more so. But for whatever reason, it didn’t actually come to life. Perhaps it’s because the Russo Brothers didn’t want the battle to be too overblown and messy. After all, we did still get a number of cool shots of Scott Lang as Giant-Man.

Avengers: Endgame is currently the highest-grossing film of all time, worldwide, having made over $US 2.797 billion at the box office. The film beat Avatar‘s nine-year record by a whisker.

Avengers: Endgame synopsis:

After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos’ actions and restore balance to the universe.
