Foldable phones are now on the rise. The Fold 1 is a product of Roberto Escobar, the founder of Escobar Inc. and brother to famed Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. To anyone’s surprise, the phone’s release isn’t intended to be a competitor to Samsung or Huawei, but instead is meant to rival Apple. According to Escobar, the Escobar Inc. is providing users with a foldable phone with current features, technology and sturdier build for only a fraction of the price found on iPhones. He also said that the Fold 1 was built with security in mind, and claims that it is difficult for anyone – including governments – to scan the phone via Bluetooth or by cellular means.

The Pablo Escobar Fold 1 is currently running an initial limited run of 100,000 units and is priced at US$349 (~RM1456) for the 128GB variant, and US$499 (~RM2082)for the 512GB. The phone is shipped unlocked, therefore allowing you to use it with any cellular carrier of your choice. Lastly, the Fold 1 also comes with a cover that features a thin layer of metal that – according to Escobar – allows it to “block RFID and other communications.”
