Mario Kart Tour Online Multiplayer Beta Arriving On December; Requires Gold Pass

After Mario Kart Tour was launched on Android and iOS back in late September, the game has received 90 million downloads on its first week of release alone. However, the game still lacks an online multiplayer feature, as players are currently only playing against bots with players’ name attached to them.

That about to change real soon though as Nintendo has recently made an announcement the online multiplayer is coming to the game this December. Not only that, the company will be beta testing before rolling it out as a public release.

A real-time multiplayer beta test is planned for December and will be available to #MarioKartTour Gold Pass subscribers.

Before you get excited though, there’s one little catch: you will need a Gold Pass in order to participate in the beta. To put things into perspective, the Gold Pass comes at a price of RM20.90 although the pass would also provide you with some in-game items and the 200cc racing mode.

For now, it is still not known whether the eventual public release of the online mode will still require the Gold Pass. In all honesty, we will not be surprised if Nintendo wants to go that route though but let’s hope that would not be the case.
