Ubisoft Delays Launch For Three Major Titles; List Includes Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine

October is turning out to be a month of caution for video game developers. Not only has Naughty Dog delayed the launch of The Last of Us II, Ubisoft recently announced that it was delaying the release of not one, but three of their major titles: Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Gods & Monsters.

According to reports by Techspot and Eurogamer, the new launch timelines for the three games have fallen somewhere within the next financial year, which is between April 2020 and March 2021. One of the reasons behind Ubisoft’s decision to delay the games was reportedly due to the lower-than-expected revenue made from two of its current IPs, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and The Division 2.

With the delay, Ubisoft is hoping to spend “more development time to ensure that their respective innovations are perfectly implemented so as to deliver optimal experiences for players.”

The new launch timeline for Watch Dogs: Legion, Raindbow Six Quarantine, and Gods & Legends are undoubtedly a bit far-fetched, especially the idea that either one of these titles would launch in the year 2021. Of course, it stands to reason that the timeline is merely a placeholder for the company and that, realistically, Ubisoft may publish all three titles sometime before the end of 2020.
