Razer and Pokemon Company Unveil Pikachu-Themed Gaming Peripherals

Razer recently launched a set of licensed Pokemon-themed Pikachu gaming peripherals in China. Specifically, the set comprises a keyboard, plus a mouse and mousepad combo.

The gaming mouse is a Razer Deathadder Essential that aesthetically sports a “Pikachu Yellow” colour, with a red accent for the side buttons and scroll wheel. Futher, the illuminated green Razer logo has been replaced with Pikachu’s lightning tail.

For the mousepad, it is a small-sized Razer Goliathus with an image of Pikachu taking up a portion of the surface. Razer did not specify if it comes in the Speed or Control edition. Also, it seems to only be available in a set with the mouse for people who are looking to buy the mousepad only.

Moving on, the keyboard is a Pikachu inspired colour scheme Razer Ornata. For the uninitiated, the Razer Ornata is a “mecha-membrane” keyboard; it uses rubber dome keycaps with a mechanical tactile click. Further, instead of the RGB lit keycaps, the keyboard comes with black mid-height keycaps and single, yellow colour light option.

At present, the Pikachu-themed Razer peripherals are only available in China on Taobao’s Tmall Razer’s official store. Price-wise, the keyboard will cost at 699 yuan (~RM413) while the mouse and mousepad combo comes at a price of 399 yuan (~RM236). Razer did not specify if the peripherals will be making their way to our stores.
