Huawei President Of Mobile Services Shows Off Mate X 5G Download Speeds

The Huawei Mate X first showed up during MWC 2019, but it has yet to find its way into the market. But that hasn’t stopped the company’s President of Mobile Services Alex Zhang from showing off the foldable phone’s 5G download speeds.

The speed test by Zhang was reportedly held in Wuzhen, with a resulting download speed about 746Mbps. Reports also indicate that the Mate X supports non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) 5G modes.

At this stage, it’s likely that the phone in question is in its latest iteration. Originally announced to be available in June, the company pushed the release of the Mate X back to September, only to push the release back again to before November.

The delayed release does mean that the Huawei Mate X will come with a Kirin 990 chipset. It will also sport slightly better protection for its outward folding display. But on the flip side, it also means that the phone will not have access to Google Mobile Services when it launches.
