Intel Core i9-9900KS Special Edition CPU To Be Available 30 October

Back at Computex 2019, Intel unveiled the Core i9-9900KS CPU, but fell short of providing a specific release date, that is, until now. According to the semiconductor company, the special edition CPU will be available from 30 October onwards.

Like the original Core i9-9900K, the Core i9-9900KS sports an 8-cores, 16-threads count and is built using a 14nm die lithography. Unlike its predecessor, the Core i9-9900KS sports a slightly higher base clock at 4.0GHz, but more importantly, all eight of its cores are capable of running at 5.0GHz simultaneously. Rather than having just a single processing core running at that speed and doing all the work.

Statistically, Intel claims that the 9900KS is approximately 27% faster than a 3-year old PC when multi-tasking, yields 35% more frames per second, and is 17% faster at editing 4K video content than the 9900K.

Other specifications of the 9900KS include a 127W TDP, 16MB Intel Smart Cache, and up to 40 PCIe lanes. The good news is that the CPU is compatible with all currently existing Z390 motherboards, so you don’t have to procure a new motherboard to go with it.

At the time of writing, Intel Malaysia has yet to specify how much the Core i9-9900KS will retail locally.
