Death Stranding Is Heading To The PC; To Be Available During Summer 2020

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has received an official release date on the PlayStation 4. Not only that, and to the surprise of many, the title is also officially getting a release for the PC.

The announcement was made by Kojima Productions’ official Twitter account. The tweet specifically states the official availability of Death Stranding on the PS4, which is 8 November 2019, along with the words “DEATH STRANDING will be coming to the PC in early summer of 2020”.

The PC port of Death Stranding is reportedly being published by 505 Games, the Italian-based video game publisher responsible for PC version of Control. On a related note, there’s a possibility that the game may end up becoming an exclusive or timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store; as it stands, Kojima Productions didn’t specify which digital platform it intends to release Death Stranding on. Of course, this is all just speculation and hearsay, so it would be best to take this with a pinch of salt.

Death Stranding was first announced at E3 2018, with a trailer that initially baffled everyone at launch. Subsequent releases of new trailers eventually cleared the air for both the game’s premise and plot. Players are put in the shoes of Sam Porter Bridges (played by Norman Reedus), a delivery man of sorts who is seemingly tasked with “reconnecting” people and cities.

The title of the game is in reference to a phenomenon known as Cetacean Stranding, otherwise known as Beaching. Besides Norman Reedus, the game will also feature a star-studded cast that includes Mads Mikkelson, Lea Seydoux, and Troy Baker, to name a few.
