Image Renders Of Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Surface Laptop 3, ARM Surface Leak Online
October is set to be busy for several tech giants, with Microsoft and its upcoming Surface lineup included. Unfortunately for the Windows creator, someone within the ranks seems to have broken their silence and leaked image renders of several Surface devices online.
The alleged images were first posted by serial leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks), and include renders of the Surface Pro 7, the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3, and an ARM-version of the Surface tablet.
Judging from the renders, the Surface Pro 7’s design doesn’t seem to stray very off course, looking almost identical to the last generation’s Surface Pro 6. The main differentiator, however, is the presence of a USB-C port instead of a DisplayPort connector. On a side note, there’s still a USB-A port on the other side for legacy support.
Beyond that, there’s no word about its specifications, although at this stage, it’s very likely that the Surface Pro 7 will ship out using Intel’s 10th generation Ice Lake CPUs.
Next on the list is the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3. Surprisingly, the design to this notebook strikes an uncanny resemblance to Apple’s own MacBook notebooks. In more ways than one. Instead of Microsoft’s Fulcrum hinge, the device seems to employ a more common overlapping design, with the bottom of the display folding underneath the back of the notebook’s base.
Unsurprisingly, there’s still no information about the Surface Laptop 3’s hardware, but if earlier reports are to be taken seriously, then this is the most likely Surface candidate that could launch with the option of an AMD Ryzen CPU inside of it.
Last on the list is the upcoming “ARM-powered” Surface tablet. Once again, there are no specifications accompanying the device, but the image renders speak volumes of it. For a start, the tablet seems to sport far thinner bezels at the top, bottom, and sides.
The corners of the device are more rounded too, and the edges of the machine have a much deeper, steeper curvature to it than other Surface devices. And while there is no specs sheet, we can at least deduce that the device will have two USB-C ports and the standard rear camera.
Blass also mentioned a “dual-screen” Surface codenamed Centaurus, but was unable to provide any imagery of the device. Guess we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow evening to find out the full story.
