Brain Age Is Making A Comeback On Nintendo Switch

The iconic game Brain Age from the handheld Nintendo DS is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The game itself is what the name naturally suggests – a game consisting of simple puzzles that are designed to keep your brain active. The game features Japanese neuroscientist Dr Ryuta Kawashima.

There are a few games showcased in the trailer. One is a simple game of maths where players have to show the answer to the IR camera on the right JoyCon, using their hand. Another simple counting game involves using the Joy-Con to hit the ZL / ZR button to tally up the numbers. One game that does not involve counting looks to be a Japanese character word guessing game, which is played with the Switch held vertically.

A fair number of the minigames make use of features specific to the detachable Joy-Cons. Given that the Nintendo Switch Lite doesn’t have detachable Joy-Cons by default, Brain Age may not be compatible with the Switch Lite.

The game is currently set to be released in Japan on 27 December, with no mention of a release in other regions. The game will cost JPY3480 (~RM135) for a physical copy that comes with a stylus, while the digital version will cost JPY2680 (~RM103).
