GoPro Hero 8 Black Available For Pre-Order In Malaysia; Priced At RM1879

The past couple of months saw a number of leaks regarding the GoPro Hero 8 and its accessories, as well as a dual-lens GoPro Max. Now, these action cams are not only official, but they’ll be making their way to our shores as well.

FunSportz, the local distributor for GoPro, has announced as much, with pre-orders for the GoPro Hero 8 Black coming up. It’s accessories will also be available here, but at a much later date, which we’ll get to in a bit.

To start, the GoPro Hero 8 Black will be priced at RM1879. It will be available for pre-order from 10 to 20 October 2019 at GoPro Concept Stores in Midvalley Megamall, Sunway Pyramid, Gurney Plaza, and Midvalley Southkey. Placing a pre-order will also get you a limited edition foldable travel backpack. The GoPro Max, on the other hand, will be available starting 24 October for RM2310.

Regarding the accessories for the GoPro Hero 8 Black, FunSportz also confirmed their names. One of them is indeed the Media Mod which acts as a directional mic and a case that gives the action cam two mounts for the other two accessories. The other two, the Display Mod and the Light Mod, are the mountable display and LED flash, respectively.

FunSportz says that the Mods for the former will only be available for per-order in December. This suggests that it may be awhile before you can actually get them. When they are made availabe, it would probably make sense to get them together with the action cam itself.
